CNC Machining of an Aluminum Upper Arm PTRC for the Medical Industry

We were recently contracted by a manufacturer of medical devices to provide the precision CNC machining required for this aluminum upper arm PTRC.
Machining utilized our state of the art vertical bridge machining centers for large part manufacturing. This included our 3 axis Awea VP2012 with high precision contour control and 77" x 47" x 34" work envelope, our SNK RB2NM with its 107" x 66" x 48" work envelope and 5 face and probing capabilities. Composed of 6061-T6 aluminum, this large scale project required tolerances as tight as +0.002 /-0.000". The finished dimensions were 69.19" long x 19.69" wide x 11.85" high, with a smooth 63 RMS finish. After machining, the part was deburred and 50 keenserts of various sizes were installed.
Aluminum Upper Arm PTRC
took place at our modern 11,000 square foot facility, and was subjected
to our rigorous testing and quality controls including dimensional
inspection, visual inspection, and first article inspection reporting.
This part was also RoHS compliant. Typical turnaround time for a project
of this magnitude is 3 – 5 weeks. This product is a standing
order, with shipments of 4 units sent out every quarter to Sunnyvale,
